Working principle
Induction hardening is a form of heat treatment in which metal parts are heated by induction heating and then quenched. The quenched metal undergoes martensite transformation, which increases the hardness and brittleness of the part. Induction hardening is used to selectively harden areas of a part or component without affecting the performance of the entire part. Hardening depth is 1.5-5mm; medium/low frequency quenching may result in excessive depth and negative impact on strength; high frequency quenching usually results in shallow depth and ensures a balance of hardness and strength.
