Stainless steel piston rod is mainly used for hydraulic pneumatic, construction machinery, automobile manufacturing piston rod. The piston rod is rolled, because the surface layer has surface residual compressive stress, it is helpful to seal the surface micro-cracks and hinder the expansion of erosion. Thus, the corrosion resistance of the surface can be improved, and the fatigue crack can be delayed or expanded, and the fatigue strength of the cylinder rod can be improved. By rolling forming, a cold working hardening layer is formed on the rolling surface, which reduces the elastic and plastic deformation of the contact surface of the grinding pair, thereby improving the wear resistance of the cylinder rod surface and avoiding the burn caused by grinding. After rolling, the reduction of surface roughness value can improve the matching property. At the same time, the friction damage to the seal ring or seal when the cylinder rod piston is moving is reduced, and the overall service life of the cylinder is increased.
The rolling process is an efficient and high quality process measure. The rolling effect is proved by taking the cutting and rolling head of Mirror Doctor with diameter of 160mm as an example. After rolling, the surface roughness of the cylinder rod decreases from RA3.2-6.3 μm before rolling to Ra0.4 ~ 0.8μm, the surface hardness of the cylinder rod is increased by about 30%, and the surface fatigue strength of the cylinder rod is increased by 25%. The service life of the cylinder is increased by 2 to 3 times, and the rolling process is about 15 times more efficient than the grinding process. The above data show that the rolling process is efficient and can greatly improve the surface quality of the cylinder rod.
